FAQ

Questions, answered.

The essentials on nominations, sponsorship, our two flagship events and the Magazine.

How does nomination work?+

Anyone can nominate a woman. You submit her name and what she does, a short reason for the nomination, and your own name and email. The DIMAS team reviews every nomination against our criteria — leadership, innovation, integrity and community impact — and contacts nominees who advance to the shortlist directly. Submission does not guarantee recognition.

Who can be nominated?+

Any woman, of any age, in any sector, in any African country, whose leadership, work or example is meaningfully shaping Africa. There is no age restriction and no sector restriction.

What does sponsorship involve?+

Sponsors and partners support the platform across the Awards, the Magazine, 30 Chairs, Women of Africa and the initiatives. Partnerships are arranged in tiers as well as bespoke packages, and are governed by a written agreement. Start on the Sponsorship page or request a meeting through Contact.

What is the difference between the Awards Night and 30 Chairs?+

They are two distinct events within The DIMAS Experience. The Awards Night — “One Stage. One Mic. One Gender.” — takes place on 17 October 2026 at the Oriental Hotel and is the annual recognition ceremony. 30 Chairs takes place on 29 August 2026, is invitation-only, and is a closed-room leadership conversation between thirty women from thirty sectors, leading into the Awards.

What is DIMAS Magazine?+

DIMAS Magazine is the editorial and publishing arm of the platform — the place where honourees, initiatives and the wider conversation are documented in long form, in print and digitally. It also carries advertising and partner placements.
